Meet the Rector

The Rev. Rhonda E. Rogers
The Reverend Rhonda E. Rogers is the Rector at St. Francis of Assisi. She was ordained and consecrated to the Sacred Order of Priests in Christ's one, holy catholic and apostolic church on January 2020 by The Right Reverend Hector Monterosso, Bishop Assistant of the Diocese of Texas. Rogers graduated from the Diocese of Texas Iona School for Ministry and completed her field education at St. Stephen’s, Liberty and at Holy Comforter, Spring.
Rhonda is the chaplain for Union of Black Episcopal Reverend John D. Epps Chapter. She is also a member of the Commission on Black Ministry, the Province VII Anti-Racism Committee, an associate with the Order of St. Helena, a monastic community for women in the Episcopal church and the Daughters of the King.
After moving from Rochester, NY in 2010, Rhonda served at Trinity Midtown in various roles and led Evening Prayer for the Lords of the Streets (LOTS) Church. She was a member at Christ Church, Rochester, NY, Standing Committee and the Anti-Racism Committee. She was an adjunct trainer for Congregational Development Institute in the Diocese of Rochester, NY.
Rogers holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology. She worked for Mobil Chemical and ExxonMobil Chemical for over 38 years before retiring in 2016. In addition to her technical career, Rhonda led employee training for Organizational Development, Diversity and Inclusion at Mobil Chemical.
Reverend Rhonda has three adult children who live in Maryland and California. Her hobbies include traveling, going to the theatre, music, golf, and reading.
